Tariff of Last Resort ('TUR')

In 2011, the tariff of last resort was modified on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October.
Over the course of 2011, the TUR 1 fixed term increased to 4.9%; the TUR 2 was 6.3%. The variable terms (the price of natural gas) increased by 17.2% and 18.5% respectively.

The increase in prices of natural gas in 2011 is strongly conditioned by the evolution of prices in international markets.

Remember that the majority of gas supplied to Spain is based on contracts in which the price of crude and petrol products is a very significant reference. Thus, the Cmp (cost of natural gas) increased by 29% in 2011, which is very much above the increases in TUR 1 and TUR 2.
