Final energy consumption
With regard to final energy, mention must be made of the maintenance of the oil product share (around 60% during the last three years), the upward trend of electricity, the fall in coal and the slight growth in natural gas.

The oil products include features that have been maintained: an increase in the consumption of gas oils and kerosenes (in 2007, 4.1% in gas oils and 5.5% in kerosene, brought about by the gradual dieselisation and air transport boom) and a reduction of petrols (-3.5%), liquid petroleum gases (-0.7%) and fuel oils (-4.1%).

The increase in oil prices of the last two years and the rise in gas oil prices on the international market (which has brought its price and that of petrol, both after taxes, in line with Spanish prices) are causing the fall in the consumption of this product in relation to the trend before the last increase in crude. The slowing-down of the dieselisation process in the renewal of the automobile fleet also has an effect.

(1) Equivalent kilos of oil.
(2) To the sum of gas oil, natural gas and electricity, it is necessary to add LPG, coal and renewable energies for direct use to have the total consumption per capita on the D-C Market.
(3) The consumption of LPG per inhabitant on the domestic market is 18.7 Kgep in the EU and 40.2 Kgep in Spain, figures for 2005.
